Strengthen attraction of foreign students to Korea
Korea’s Ministry of Education announced the Study Korea 300K Project to attract international students to Korea. Specifically, it has set a goal of attracting 300,000 foreign students by 2027 to become one of the world’s top 10 study-abroad powers. Accordingly, the plan is to attract Korean universities, local companies, and local governments together, and to support international students’ academic and career design step by step. As such, the policy of attracting foreign students is considered one of the ways to compensate for the declining birth rate and rapid aging in Korea. There are several members of the KOSA that are engaged in attracting foreign students.
