FELCA Europe Report, August 2024
January 2024, Alphe Malaga: 1st meeting in person.
Topics discussed : The European Norm : EN 14804-2005, the possibility to work with a lobbying company, the idea of a European Certification of Study Abroad Counsellors, new potential association members, negotiate with the EU to have a special category for educational agencies different from travel agencies
May 2024 : contact with UNOSEL (France) to see whether they would be interested to re-join FELCA. Their answer : “Thank you very much for your proposal. Unfortunately, the situation in France means that we’re going to have to concentrate initially on making new national contacts before we can consider extending this work to Europe. We’ll be sure to get back to you when the situation is more stable on our side!”
As some members of UNOSEL are participating in Alphe London, Scott offered to invite one of them to attend FELCA AGM, no answer.
July 2024 : online meeting with Euralia, a lobbying company based in Brussels, to see how we could potentially work together in the future and what they could do for us. The main focus would be to start with the following actions and the services that could be provided. Estimated budget for the services : € 10.000. Could FELCA partly finance it while giving the equivalent amount to Asia and South America?
